About Us

EPAD was created in 2015 by Lucy Mason and Nicholas Bone of Mason Bone Projects. They continue to run the programme with Kate Taylor, together bringing their combined expertise in producing, mentoring and creative development to the project.

Lucy Mason is a freelance arts manager and consultant. She is a trained coach and mentor. Her roles include Theatres Advisor with Theatres Trust, Head of King’s Engagement with Capital Theatres, Interim Chief Executive of Federation of Scottish Theatre and National Theatre of Scotland, and Interim Artistic Director of the Arches. She was previously Chief Executive of Dance Base, Performing Arts Advisor to the Scottish Government and Administrative Producer at the Traverse Theatre.  She is Chair of Curious Seed performance company, based in Craigmillar, Edinburgh. Through her freelance work she has provided support and consultancy to a number of Edinburgh-based companies including All or Nothing, Puppet Animation Scotland, Tortoise in a Nutshell, Creative Carbon Scotland, Catherine Wheels, Luminate, Federation of Scottish Theatre and Imaginate.  

 

Nicholas Bone is a director and producer with a particular interest in artist development. He is Artistic Director of Magnetic North, an Edinburgh-based company that commissions, develops and produces new work, and a trained mentor. He has directed for Opera North, Dundee Rep, National Theatre of Scotland, Scottish Opera, NIDA (Sydney) and many other companies.

 

Kate Taylor is an independent theatre and music theatre producer. She is currently working with musician Mairi Campbell (Pulse and Auld Lang Syne) and performance artist Skye Loneragan (Though This Be Madness). She is fundraising consultant for Strange Town theatre company. Previously, she was Associate Producer for British Youth Music Theatre producing new music theatre and has worked with English Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Hall Birmingham, City of London Festival and Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

 

EPAD is funded by City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) and receives in-kind support from many Edinburgh-based organisations including Capital Theatres, Royal Lyceum Theatre, Scottish Storytelling Centre and Traverse Theatre.
